Soviet symbols in the Russian ministry of defence

Russian federation minister of defence, Sergei Ivanov, at the ministry of defence. Please note the H&S, and the picture of the order of service in the armed forces of the USSR, on the wall.

They just dont have get rid of the paintings because they don´t care. And besides, they would like to remember old times(the situation was better for´em before, so...):)

this is an interesting subject; they left all by national proudness and coz they can't care of all soviet stuff. Russians consider the soviet stuff as part of national patrimony despite of all. A friend told me there were almost all intact in Moscow; but in Kiev, and worst again, Lvov, they all dismantled (but Lvov is symbolic).
In Paris, we've a huge ambassy, brejnev-concrete-style; on the entry you find the double eagle, but on the sides, the soviet monument for peace with bird, and the good old one hammer and sickle (huge size)!
