lenin

first off all the screwpost should not be goldcolored. the rivets are too big and probobly fake rivets. The monetny dwor mintmark looks like a sand cast. the front is very poor in details if compared to a real lenin. It also looks sandcasted.

Marco,

Go into the Order of Lenin thread in the Orders section..many many pics of authentic lenins there. Also try this:

Art and others,

Sorry to ask, but I believe that I posted an answer to this thread a couple of days ago; anybody knows where it went?

Marco,

Your Order of Lenin looks cast to me, as Sovvisor pointed out: bad S/N, mintmark, general lack of details, etc.
I do not like the Nevsky order. The suspension is definitely fake, and details are off on the order.
The entries in the book are bad. They are written in ballpen, which was not used at that time; also, the handwriting is modern looking, and does not look like that of the period.

Marc,

I deleted your original message. While the thumbs up or thumbs down regarding authenticity was appreciated, It would be great if in the future more explanation of the reasons why it is believed to be a fake are posted.

BTW, this was posted in the main forum of the "Fake Alert" hierarchy:

http://www.soviet-awards.com/forum/s...ead.php?t=3335

Thanks,

Art
