Maritime Border Guards

I could have sworn that there used to be a thread on this, but after 3 searches yielding no results, and no mention in the '89 reg book, lets ask.

As you may know, the Soviet Navy had a Border Guard Contingent. What uniforms did they wear? I'm talking about officers here, M69. I know they wore naval uniforms, with special shoulder boards, but am unsure of what type. I have seen regular trapezoidal naval boards with black stripes on gold or white braid, but with a green backing, for parade and summer service respectively. I have also seen trapezoidal boards for winter service with gold stripes on black lace with a green backing. I have also seen the black hexagonal boards with gold stripes and a green backing for wear with the blue stand collar tunic. One would assume at this stage that Naval border guard officers wore the same boards as regular naval officers except with a green backing instead of the black, or added if there was none at first. BUT, I also have seen a type of board (winter service for tunic) which is black, with no backing, but a green stripe?!?! Can anybody explain this anomaly? Are they from different time periods? Factory screw up? Not really naval border guards? Please someone clear this up for me!

Picture of the boards in question:
Pic 1: The black with green stripe, trapezoidal
Pic 2: White, black stripe, green backing, trapezoidal
Pic 3: Hexagonal, black, gold stripe, green backing

The fact in the question is why there are two types these naval border guard boards, the black ones with the green stripe (I assume there is a white version with the green stripes also and logically, their complement for parade would be regular border guard officer boards) and the regular naval boards with a green backing. The black hexagonal ones and white ones with the green backing are shown. I cannot locate a picture of white or beige (for shirt) hexagonal boards with green backing. Black trapezoidal boards w/ green backing are not shown. Parade ones with a green backing are here: http://www.soviet-awards.com/forum/s...der-guard.html Two of the three boards may be incorrect, but the items in question are the actual cloth insignia themselves, not the metal insignia on them.

Now that the whole anomaly has been explained, let me reiterate my question: Why are there there these two types of boards? Green striped ones (Same as naval infantry and aviation but with green stripes instead of red and blue) and regular naval ones but with a green backing?

Would naval border guard officers wear uniforms with (regular navy) or without (naval infantry and aviation) sleeve rank?

Also, would naval border guard admirals wear a green piped admiral tunic, a regular navy admiral tunic, with border guard general boards, or regular admiral boards but with a green backing?
