I just re-found this uniform; I had let my father keep it at his place. Its only one of two uniforms that I kept when I sold off my WWII generals uniforms collection. This uniforms is so typical of the early war years. Although a n M1935 you can tell its from 1940-1942 because the cuff buttons were removed; remember, commissar "generals" were not given real generals rank in 1940.

He is a brigade commissar of the NKVD Frontier Troops. Sort of "double NKVD". The set came from the family back in 1997; the name "Semenov" is inside the cap.

I threw some badges on....i think the Mongolian one is too modern, the first one is a copy. The middle one is real though.
