Re: New Group
Well, the first one that is clearly a fake and makes me wary of many of the others is the OPW1, T1, V3 with no serial number and a strange yellow color of the gold where it was painted (see scratches on reverse). Based only on that, I would be suspect of the rest of the set, especially since the seller probably wants a princely sum for it. If he/she would put in one fake/copy, then where would the line be drawn?

Re: New Group
Hello,
the two Red Banner look okay to me. There is a serial numer on the OGPW 1st class. It is very slightly visible. To me it looks like there are lead soldered relics on the reverse. Due to the many straches, it looks like the OGPW war converted to screwbach by the solder and than converted back. That would explain the relics of lead solder on the back and the scratches and maybe the slighlty serial number. The strange gold colour reverse could be a lightening problem, as the colour on the front looks okay. regards Andreas |

Re: New Group
I would have expected that someone who went to effort of putting their anniversary and campaign medals on these multiple suspensions that they:
1. Put their VoG in the set instead of keeping it separate. 2. At least put their "war" medals before the anniversary ones. At present it is a bit of a dog's breakfast! They are seriously out of order. It may just be the lighting for the picture but the "Prague" looks odd to me. Simon |

Re: New Group
No opinion to share on the authenticity of any individual award, but an observation. For something so obviously high priced it seems like a good investment as a prospective buyer to spend only a few dollars to get the award card for the individual. Don't really need anything else at this point, as it will verify (or at least give a glimpse into) the authenticity of the group as a whole. (The glimpse refers to sometimes even the archives have typos and inaccuracies. :))
As a seller it seems an obvious move as well - get the verification and add it to the sales pitch, then just jack up the price that much.
