Soviet General walking-out uniform
This uniform is now on sale on our favorite auction site for a reasonnable price, but I am not an expert in uniforms, so I would like to have your opinion if it is genuine. And what about the date of production, 50's? 60's? 70's?

Early 60-ties perhaps? The ribbon bar features awards from the 70-ties though.

Well the hat looks like a 1980s job but the jacket with the lack of embroidery on the cuffs rules itis a M-1954 job. I would be sceptical of this one as being 100% genuine, it looks like a put together job although the tunic is rarer than the more common leter versions with sleeve embrodiery.

boards
I would stay away; looks like a parts uniform, and i am pretty sure the boards are for an overcoat not for this tunic; too grey.

I would if I were you. Although the early grey walking out tunics are relatively rare, the fact that the shoulder boards (as Doug says) as well as the ribbon bar are not original. Unless it is being sold for peanuts I would leave it.

150 start, 175 BIN. Not a fortune, but still not for free either.

hello, seen this in Paris, looks like 1950's, but which variation? the stuf is worn and used, nice , but I don't know this variation of shoulderboards...
embrodery, nice gold and round laurel leaves I've already seen on 50'-60' jackets the shoulderboards: in the books they appear in gold...are they correct????? the buttons, with high relief of the state coat-of-arms ribbon bar, coherent and realistic so....is the jacket correct???? thanks b advance, sebastien

I have one with the same boards (buttons dated seventy-something). And I am sure it is original.
It is fact that all regulations from 1958 to 1988 show this uniform (for marshals) with gold boards, but I think these are ok. |
