About the "Assistance Needed....." thread

Guys,

I am just wondering what the purpose of this thread is. In case no one has noticed, only Moderators can post and/or reply in it. Given the question raised, it seems to me that the request for assistance is effectively directed to all, including us, mere Forum members.

But if the topic-starter is happy with the limited feedback is has been getting, let's not spoil the Mods' ongoing and exclusive party

Well, I believe that the author of that thread was asking for some very precise information about the Order of Friendship of Nations, although the pictures were, well, rather undersized

No, it is not.

The thread I was refering to was created in the Administration thread by a Moderator who was asking for assistance with an OFN. He posted a couple of postage stamp-sized pictures and, for whatever reason, only moderators could answer; mere mortals did not have the right to reply and post in that thread. After I brought it up, the thread "disappeared"...

Marc, I can't speak for the Moderator who made the posting, but if you are really that offended you are free to go elsewhere or create a Soviet medals site in which Moderators don't have private communications.

No slight or special knowledge was intended and I don't really know or care why the thread was deleted. In this case, a question is just a question.
