Honor Guard Armband?

I was looking through a recently acquired, but out of print, book on Soviet spy Kim Philby. The book includes photos of Philby's funeral. There are members of a uniformed Honor Guard at the grave site, and they are clearly wearing some kind of armband. It is not simply a black mourning band.

I have looked all over the internet for that photo in order to post it here but I have not found it. I do not have a scanner, and so I will have to take a photograph of the picture from the book. But I thought that I would pose the question first in case anyone knew immediately what the armband might be? The details of it are not clear in the photograph.

For funerals, honour guard and participants wore a black and red armband.
