Transition from the USSR to the Russian Federation

Hey guys,
One thing I find that has been vaguely discussed on this forum of uniforms from the USSR to the Russian Federation. I would like to make this thread into a reference guide (well, not exactly) regarding the matter. Everything from the date/range of the transition of uniform piece (Some soviet cockades are still being used to this day) to what the new pieces look like, etc. I know that this should probably in the Russian Federation thread, but I feel that it will get more "publicity" in this thread. Please note that for naval uniforms, the differences will vary not as much. Pictures will help.

I have some (mainly naval), but am unable to provide dates:
Enlisted Cap:
  1. The standard wreathed hammer and sickle in star has been replaced by an anchor on dark blue background in a Officer style ring (See attachment 1)
  2. Guards status is no longer denoted by an orange tally (Tally remains black), but the dark blue field behind the anchor is replaces with alternating rings of black and orange, the colors of St. George. (See attachment 2)
Enlisted Uniform:
  1. The specialty patch on the sleeve is replaced by a patch which designated the branch of service (VMF) It does not specify the sailor's fleet, which is designated on the cap tally. However, there are patches that designate the fleet, but it is speculated that these are sold to tourists as souveniers or probably for other purposes. (See attachment 3)

Navy Cadets:
  1. Naval Cadets above a specified rank (not sure which or if this existed or not in the USSR) wear peaked caps with the sailor middy uniform. (like MORFLOT (See Attachment 2) The caps have the officer cockade, but black leather straps instead of the golden officer one. (See attachment 1)
Shoulder Boards:
  1. Most 4-sided sew on style shoulder boards are replaced with 6 sided slip on style ones. Notable exceptions include the enlisted naval middy and Battle dress uniforms. (See attachment 3) In addition, all CA (Soviet Army) cyphers have been replaced by BC (Armed Forces) ones.
Naval Parades:
  1. For some uniforms, the black beret (naval infantry?) is worn with the sailor middy for parade instead of the beskozirka. I am unsure whatever purpose this is for, or if its another naval infantry thing, since the black naval infantry uniform and beskozirka are still worn. However, it is possible that this combination is for coastal artillery.

BTW, the peaked cap of the cadet of picture 1 has a soviet navy cockade.

I know. Its mentioned somewhere in the first post. I still got more info, but I'm really tired now... I'm gonna put Navy officer caps, transitional caps, actual russian post transitional caps, uniforms, belts, etc.
