Russian WW2 boots?
Was hoping someone could confirm whether these boots are Russian that would be typical of WW2 use. I'm primarily interested in boots officers would have worn as field or service (assuming there was a difference, and if there was, what details were different?)
1st set (these are of the same pair of boots) Last edited by Slobo; 12-27-2007 at 06:24 PM. Reason: typos |

Slobo,
The first pair is most likely a foreign post-war production. The other 2 pairs seem to correspond globally to what you are after, but please post pictures of the soles. They should be secured with wooden nails (see the pair I have for sale). Marc Last edited by Lapa; 12-28-2007 at 12:21 AM. |

Thanks Lapa -- the first pair appear to have sewn soles. They are attributed to an Estonian deserter from the Red Army who, apparently, simply went home.
In checking the other pairs, they all seem to have the wooden pegged soles, though one of three pairs appears to only have a single row of pegs around the outer sole, with a double row across the rear parallel to the heel (this particular pair is stated to be quite small, sz. 36 I believe, and possibly made for women or children). |
