War Cross.
Here is the War Cross (Válečný Kříž/Vojnový Kríž), which has been called The Czechoslovak War Cross (to stop confusion with the Croix De Guerre) and War Cross 1918 (as not to confuse with the Czechoslovak War Cross 1939).
Created on 7th November 1918 (during the Great War) for Czechoslovakians that showed bravery whilst actively participating in combat against the enemy (at the time this was the Germans and Austro-Hungarians but it would later also be awarded for bravery during the Hungarian–Czechoslovak War and Polish–Czechoslovak War). The award ceased to be awarded after the annexation of Czechoslovakia in 1939 and was replaced with the Czechoslovak War Cross 1939, which was awarded for similar feats against a new set of enemies. |
