It looks like a RSFSR Yuri Gagarin state prize award. why? The ribbon has the same color than the flag of the RSFSR did use in the Soviet Union. And, as I could see on the little pic, the guy in the medal was very similar to Yuri Gagarin.... Esteban
There's nothing in the streets
Looks any different to me And the slogans are replaced, by-the-bye And the parting on the left Are now parting on the right And the beards have all grown longer overnight The Who, Won't get fooled again

I got this medal in Berlin, it was the only one I had ever seen there. It was being sold with a bunch of junk at a flea market. I paid a couple of dollars for it. As far as construction, it is a very well made piece. I'm sure it is 100% legit, just don't know what it is for.

Gunnet,
There seems to be writting around the rim of the reverse. If you can't post a bgger image can you try to transliterate the writting or otherwise copy it in some way and someone may be able to ID it. Shawn

Thats great news... But what does this mean? Did they hand out this medal to all who completed training in 84 or did they just hand them out to Joe Public one day. Well, on the bright side there can't be to many of them out there. I'm wondering if there are 1984, 85, etc.
