Eric-
That conversion is so bad that I'd almost think it was "righteous"! (Remember, some folks did convert their awards from hanging to screwback after the War...) --Dave

Maybe not as funny as the others posted here, but...
Not on e-bay, but on Polish auction site. Cap is a cap, nothing strange about it (apart from the fact that it is sold with two bands). The funny thing is a description and a price. Description: Org.:"Oryginalna w 100% wojkowa czapka Marynarki wojennej CCCP. Oto treœci z czapki:;;;;;;;;;bêdê pisac ruski tekst w stylu polskim , ale chodzi oczywiœcie o sam przekaz tresci............YCCP - KIJEWSKOJE PO GO£OWNYCH UBOROW,,,,,,FABRIKA GO£OWNYCH UBOROW ODESSA 1984 R.CZIERNOMORKIJ FLOT I CYBERNYJE FLOT NR XI -88 ,, 7451225GO£OWA 55..............i tyle z czapki. Stan ocenie na 4+ bo by³a na prawde na g³owie sybiraka. Prawdopodobnie okrêt wojenny na bazie syberyjskiej. To ale domys³y. POLECAM ZBIERACZON. JEDYNA W SWOIM RODZAJU. " Translation (hard to translate mistakes): "100% original military cap of navy of CCCP. Here are the writings from cap:;;;;;;;;I will write ruskie text in Polish style (I will try to put it in more understandable transscription without removing funny parts - al_muell) , but it is about the meaning of the texts.............YCCP - Kiyevskoye PO GOLOVNYKH UBOROV,,,,,,FABRIKA GOLOVNYKH UBOROV ODESSA 1984 R.CHERNOMORKIY FLOT I(and) CYBERNYIE FLOT NR XI -88 ,, 745122GOLOVA 55........................and that's all from the cap. I will rate the condition 4+ (good+) because it was realy on Sybirak's head (the word "sybirak" in polish means someone who was forced to live in Siberia esp. in Carist times -a.). Probably a submarine on siberian base. teese but my thoughts. I recommand to all collectors. ONE OF A KIND." Siberian submarine sailor in unique cap from odessa... Hmm.... And that "Siberian Fleet".... And now - even funnier thing about that - the price. As an introduction - 1$=about 4pln. Such cup can be, with a bit of luck and haggle, bought for 35-40PLN in Poland, in Russia even cheaper. Starting bid:200PLN Buy now price:500PLN
