so, here it is. the Order of Victory patch for daily use. here is the seller's description
SOVIET ORDER OF VICTORY – 1943
This award was established by a Decree of the Presidium of the USSR Supreme Soviet on 8 November 1943, as the highest military order, bestowed on general officers and marshals for the successful execution of military operations conducted by one or several groups of armies which radically changed the military situation in favour of the Soviet Army.
It has been awarded to 17 Soviet Marshals (Stalin had 2!) and foreign citizens , including General of the Army Eisenhower, Field Marshal Mongomery, and Marshal Tito, among others.
This beautiful badge patch was designed for wear with the daily uniform.
This patch comes in an envelope issued by the Military Museum in Vladivostok, where I found them, complete with the wax seal still intact, and custom stamps for return to the United States. These beautiful hand embroidered patches are stitched with gold bullion wire and mother-of-pearl sequins to represent the many diamonds on the dress award. These pieces were produced in the early 50s before the original badges were eventually returned to the Russian Diamond Vaults located in Moscow.
The patch measures 10cm x 10cm, including the backing.
seems weird to me. and on the picture of the 'museum envelopes' does anyone else notice the hammer and sickle seal in the wax on somethign dated 1999? kind of weird. these stories get better and better with time
Wierd indeed--cool-looking patch though. I like the impressive awards on the general's parade uniform, 2x OGPW, ORS, a guards badge, and a 1980s enlisted man's otlichnik badge :weird
i agree that the uniform is cool, but you'll notice that none of them are attached to the uniform. in my mind that kind of leads me ot believe it is in the process of being created rather than actually having those awards on th eunifrom to begin with
