Ebay jokes
It's hard to say from the pic, but isn't the jacket a Morflot item, with just the navy boards and badges/ribbons attached?
Appears so. Only aeroflot and morflot double breasted jackets have buttons styled as such.
Soviet merchant fleet. I met an old man in Tallinn last summer in a antique store, who was wearing his civil fleet uniform. He looked very impressive, but sadly he was trying to sell his awards. I think I have a photo somewhere.

I do not know about the shoulder boards, I think they should not be there.

The navy wears stripes along with the shoulderboards on the tunic, so would the merchant fleet also parallel that? Maybe you're confusing it with the greatcoat?
gentlemen, here is your opportunity to obtain and own a two star general uniform for the amazing price of 40$.

I think the uniform sleeve is smiling at me. Anyway, it looks like one of the JAG uniform props from the medals under ribbons (there is a thread on this somewhere)
The medals and badges are worth $40. You could keep them and toss the uniform.
Saw this on ebay today, just love the story as to why the award book is empty :laff

Why waste the uniform? If the stuff on the sleeve is removed together with the four medals; the OGPW is replaced with a diamond shaped gradua badge and the Komsomol badge removed (and finally, the tank on either of the collar tabs is replaced with one facing in the other direction) ... then you have a nice uniform!
I don't throw anything away...obviously. I was just making the point that even if the listing or description was nonsense, the price wasn't bad. (Of course that assumes the postage isn't horrible. There was someone selling "Russian Swords" with 99 cent opening bids and $1500 postage.)
