Thanks, I didn't think so - this looks just like the blank documents they sell to tourists.

The felt tip pin and different fonts of printing should be clues.

I spotted these on the auction site. Only one of them is allegedly state security - MGB, but the picture has both in it. Since they are supposed to be for the same person, then it technically fits anyway.
If this turns out to be authentic (though I doubt that seriously), I will be pleasantly surprised since real MGB docs are few and far between. I almost forgot to include the information provided by the seller in his listing: "Description: Ladies and Gentlemen, we are pleased to offer here, 100% original USSR 2 CERTIFICATES (2 documents) "Ministry of State Security USSR & Dnepropetrovsk Hutch KP(b)U" Ministry of State Security USSR # ЛП 38 Tour Vasily Petrovich - Deputy Chief UMGB Dnipropetrovsk region issued by Minister of Public Security of the Ukrainian SSR from December, 31st, 1950. Dnepropetrovsk Hutch KP(b)U CERTIFICATE #78 Tour Vasily Petrovich - candidate member of the Dnipropetrovsk City Committee KPbU from 1949 SIGN Secretary Gorcoma L. BREZHNEV!" Phillip

I don't see anything immediately wrong with them, but scans are not good enough to tell for sure.

Andreas,
Personally, I would not touch this one with a 10-foot pole, but that is just my opinion. Marc |
