Fake Order And Medal Booklets
I don't like it. Would you show us a scan of the full page? Still... I don't think I'd change my mind.

I'd say that only the first entry with the long service ORS was good depending on the booklet version, and the rest likely crap. The second ORS award date could easily be off by a couple or more years (earlier than it should be), and that Glory just doesn't fit in at all.

If this doc had awards with it and showed up in front of me, I would immediately assume it was a fake and would negotiate my price on the fly as if these were individual undocumented awards except for the first ORS with what I'd see as a defaced doc.

Those are the problems I suspected. Furthermore, the first ORS was missing. I am glad I stayed away!

Thanks for the input! :thumbsup

Hello.

Here is the document coming with a CS medal I just purchased. Medal is s/n 1351907 and appears being awarded in 1944, while the booklet is dated June 1947.

As usual, it is difficult to me to assess whether the document is original or it has been "doctored" to match with the number of the first available medal.

Looking forward to get your opinions,
ciao
sergio

I'm no expert but I don't see anything that raises an alarm other than the bright ink. I like it.

Hello,

I would like to show this strange award booklet of a guy who received an Order of Lenin in 1951, then a 3rd class Order of Glory in 1965. Looking at the S/N, it seems that the OG3 was waiting for him in some drawer since 1945, but nobody told him.

Since I found this booklet quite odd, I am posting it looking forward to receive your opinions.

I believe the Glory III entry is not legitimate.

For one, the serial number should be in the 600 or 700K range if awarded that late. Second, usually entries for such esteemed awards were written neater than that and third, notice the difference in inks. The top, India ink, or a stamp were often used in entries - not magic marker or other modern inks.

No "bleeding" inks please.;) Really, that was my first thought: "cheap pen." However, I did not know about "India ink" as a standard. Very good and useful information - thanks.:thumbsup

Regardless, I would have the Glory III researched simply to find out to whom it was really awarded.

Hello. This booklet was together with a ORS and a OG3 i recently acquired (the orders are posted separately in the dedicated "fake" discussions). What is your opinion on it?

Thank you very much.

sergio
