M55's KGB and MVD jackets are identical, only the cap make the difference, blue band and piping for KGB, brick red band and blue piping (56, 55 NKVD style) for MVD.

Ah, I've seen that jacket sitting on E for a while now, at first I thought about getting it but then I saw all the moth holes. :(
Now I am on a mission to get a KGB parade uniform. :D

Jeffrey Meffert Wrote:Moths love the wool of the m55's. They especially love to snack on the caps. You are correct sir about the MGB => KGB dates. Since I know a little more about what was worn on the uniforms rather than the uniforms themselves, I have to count on you guys to help me with information like you have done today. Thank you.:D Now, if you can picture one of these in its pristine condition, I'd have to say it would be rather stylish and very cool to my eye - that cool grey and royal blue piping. I'd even say "snazzy" (and I've never said that word before).:chuckle Phillip

That KGB major M55 I think I had in my closet for awhile, too (Until Doug talked me out of all my M55's). It was a beauty and one of the cleanest moth-wise of all those I had.
On second thought it might have gone out on ebay and I blame Doug unjustly (for that one). Uniforms come in and uniforms go out and it's hard to keep track. It's nice that several collectors get to enjoy these artefacts as collections get changed around.

Well... these uniforms go around in the collector circles, around and around. Back and forth over the Atlantic :D When I got it, it came from USA - and back it went.

does nobody really collect them for long times?
like me i got 60 cap's that are a collection all together no thinking about selling a single one of it.

To be honest I haven't really thought about selling any piece of my small collection, which is probably why, its too small at the moment, can't spare anything. :o
