Yet another new buy, which I made today for £10/$15. So I can live with the chip to the enamel at that price. Allegedly, it was brought home as a souvenir by a British soldier.

Cheers, Ade.

Ade,

The price is definitely right :thumbsup
Does that mean that the price of Soviet OMDs is (at last...) falling down closer to ground level

Hi Marc, no sadly not. It came from a dealer who specialises in British cap badges. He was really out of his depth with Soviet items. He mentioned that came in a British Veterans lot and that was the only reason he had it. We got chatting and he recalled he recognised me as first buying from him 30 years ago, (!) so I think this is why I got it a such a good price.

Many dealers over here in the UK are ignorant when it comes to Soviet OMD's. So prices can be a little wild at times.

Cheers, Ade.

The s/n 1.760.066 should be awarded in early 1945. This Red Star cries for research.

I'm thinking this one might be mid 1943 but it is really only a guess.
I'm also thinking that the missing enamel was chipped a few years ago because of the patina on the bare silver.

I have another fresh one to post soon :D

Here is the second of the stars I received recently from Ukraine.

Am I correct in thinking that the second digit is a 4? I thought it could have been a 6.

Cheers.
