Here are my "estimates" based on the ranges in the Green Bible. . .

2593211, might have a chance of being a WWII period manufacture/issue date, but it would be late war, or possibly a 1946 long service award, too close to call

2785677, a 1947/48 long service award

3048919, a 1951 long service award

1830592, definitely a WWII manufacture/issue piece

Would really like to see them!

2593211: produced September 1945

2785677: produced 1946

3048919: produced 1951

1830592: produced March 1945

Regarding when they were awarded, what Bill said...

The Green Bible is a tremendous resource in determining/guesstimating award dates, but Auke, pray tell, what is the source for the manufacturing dates?

Strekalov, N.N. and V.A. Durov, Orden Krasnoi Zvezdy: Istoria uchrezhdenia nagrady I evolyutsia ordenskogo znaka. Kavalery ordena [The Order of the Red Star: The History of the Institution of the Award, the Evolution of the Order's Badge and Recipients of the Order], Lyubimaya kniga, 2008. Completely in Russian, but a GREAT book with practically everything about the Order of the Red Star.

hi all,

ive been asking around and i was offered a couple of awards by someone online but he does not seem interested in my offer to buy to buy them all. (i was mainly interested in the 2 red stars, because they seem like early types)

i was just wondering what the correct, collectors price would be for a red star with the serial number 92xxx & 11xxxx - both are standard screw base types ( 1942/1943era?)

thanks

Some dealers, ahem, would ask upwards of $400 for examples in that range, especially if they were in pristine condition, however, I think Eric's estimations to be fairly accurate collector-to-collector. Condition is a significant determining factor of value, at least in my old eyes. . .

Need some more eyes to help me with this number. It looks like 1862371, but if it is, I would think this should be an MZPP variation, which it does not appear to be. Your thoughts?
