Translation Help
Damn, now that's what I call fast service; thank you very much!

Any time Bill!
I have found that very often Georgian names in Cyrillic are written in a strange way. I don't know if this is due to the fact that the "unusual" Georgian names needs to be checked whilst writing it out or if the person writing in Cyrillic is used to writing in Georgian script.
There are some very "not Russian" names and a great variety of translations which can often lead to a very difficult time on "the site".

"Nikolai Konstantinovich Chhartishvili", say that fast three times. . . Was able to extract the Award List and Citation for his Red Star, as well as the documentation for his 1985 Jubilee Issue of his Order of the Patriotic War in 1st Class. No other awards listed for the Lieutenant. . .

Good to see you got a hit.
ჭხართიშვილი, ნიქოლოზ კონსთანთინს-ძე (Ch'xartishvili, Nikoloz K'onstantins-dze) in Georgian. You can see how easy it would be to find it difficult to track down with three Languages and Alphabets in the equation.

Obtained yet another veteran's documents group consisting of a 20th, 25th, 30th & 40th Anniversary of Victory documents as well as documents for the 50th, 60th, and 70th Anniversary of the Soviet Armed Forces. I have been able to decipher his first and last names, Petr (Peter) ____vich Yakovlev, but his middle name already has me cross-eyed, especially due to the handwriting. Your assistance would be most appreciated.

In searching podvignaroda there are many with this name. The only clue I have might be on his 25th Anniversary of Victory (1970) which lists his rank as Captain, or капитан. He would also have been eligible for the Jubilee Issue, 1985, of the Order of the Patriotic War in 1st or 2nd Class given the range of dates of these documents. Sadly, it is missing from the group. . .
