Thanks a lot Auke! :thumbsup
I had never heard of the Mius [river] Front before.
And Thank you too, Tommy! I do appreciate your attempt. I too, am still struggling with reading Cyrillic handwriting, but another pair of eyes, another guess at it, might just me enough to get the right spelling.
And I have a last one for today! It's a thought one though. What would be the last name of the 3rd Ukrainian Front officer who signed here?
Well, it wasn't the designation of a military unit, as the word 'front' was commonly used in the Red Army, but rather the name given to a specific line of defense along the Mius river. Some fierce battles took place there in 1943.
The name could be Ненько (Nenko). Would you mind showing a larger portion of the page? I would like to compare some letters. On a side note, this might not be his signature...

Unfortunately, there is no other writing by that person on the document as this was taken from the very bottom of the back of the citation and is the only entry of that date.
The person who signed was the Guards Major, Senior Assistant to Chief of Personnel Section of the Armored and Mechanized Forces, 3rd Ukrainian Front.
P.S. If it can help you, this is from Soziashvili's OPWII citation which you might still have in your mailbox from me.
Looking forward to a larger photo. Please also post the portion with the recipient's name, so I can look up the citation in Podvig Naroda - on this photo there is illegible text in the margins.
