Tal is right. Orignal ships and submarine clocks were a real drab affair and certainly would ot have had pictures of subs and hammer + sickles etc.
Even though the watches worn by officers and men that were made by the Kommanderskie factory bore the decorative symbols of branch of arm, the ships and subs clocks were purely functional without any decoration - much like a lot of items in the old Soviet Union!

I know Tal was right, there was a slight problem of vocabulary. It would be interesting to get pics of the agreed original clock. And with his pics we have the full set of variations of this gadget!
BTW, thanks for all infos

First post, new to this Forum. I buy, sell, collect Russian watches. Have sold over 125 in two years, and have over 80 (lost count) in my collection. Tourist or Military, these types of clocks are a big business and profit earner for me. Just bought my 7th clock. Sold the other 6. This one is the "Red October" dialed one. They are the highpoint of my display at allmy antique shows. It brings in the customers. Hope I am not boring members with this post?

No, not at all, so please post your pictures and let's start the conversation, although I am not exactly sure where you would post your topic threads, I am sure others will direct you accordingly and appropriately. Welcome to the forum!
