Condition:The order is in very fine to excellentcondition. The enamel on the suspension has a tiny scratch near the upperedge, otherwise perfect - completely free of the usual chips or flaking. Thegold star has a few tiny scratches and a small ding at the lower right starpoint but very little wear otherwise; the ridges are extremely well defined andcrisp. Nice, even patina to the silver starburst. The connecting link isoriginal and has not been cut. It is was awarded many years ago, but anyway thismedal still in a good condition in corresponds to regarding its age. A greatexemplar to add to your collection! The best indication of condition is tostudy the photographs carefully. Medal very attractive, even patina on bothsides indicates the authenticity of the product. The details of the bas-reliefare perfect and extremely crisp; practically all of the original fire giltfinish is present. A superb example all through. The enamel retains beautiful lusterthroughout, is essentially perfect, possible detection of not significant ofmicroscopic contact marks invisible to the naked eye, no flaking, rubbing orany other noticeable wear. The award retains beautiful luster everywhere. Thereare a no bumps or scratches especially visible. The suspension device isoriginal and completed. The certainly soviet ribbon is a little bit worn andtattered. It remains sound overall however, and in our opinion, add tremendousamount of character to the medal. The best indication of condition is tostudy the photographs carefully, photos are part of the description.

Ordersstar made by solid 14K gold (star), body of the award silver with red ruby enamel(starburstandsuspension) and enamel.The USSR Mother Heroine Medal (or Мать-героиня, Mat’-geroinya in Russian) was an honorary title established on 8 July 1944 and awarded to all mothers bearing and raising 10 or more children. The title was awarded upon the first birthday of the last child, provided that nine other children (natural or adopted) remained alive. Children who had perished under heroic, military, or other respectful circumstances were also counted. The title was accompanied by the bestowal of the Order “Mother Heroine” and a certificate conferred by the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Soviet Union.The award was established in 1944 and continued to exist until the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991. Approximately 430,000 women were awarded this title during its existence.The USSR Mother Heroine Design.

The star is in solid 14 K gold,superimposed on five-sided sunburst plate in solid silver; suspension device isin gilded silver and enamel. Pendant measures 30.7 mm in height (incl. theeyelet), 27.4 mm in width; weighs 11.5 g without the suspension and connectinglink; total weight with suspension is 15.0 g. Features stamped mint mark andhand- engraved serial number. The mint mark is an early version in very smallfont.Themedal is a solid gold star superimposed on a silver pentagon with rays facingoutwards. It measures 30.74 mm in height including the eyelet and 27.27 mm inwidth. It weighs 12.1 gram without and 16.2 gram with suspension.

The Award was established in 1944and continued to exist until the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991.
