RUSSIAN COSSACK CAUCASIAN SILVER KINDJAL DAGGER 19th C For Sale
RUSSIAN COSSACK CAUCASIAN SILVER KINDJAL DAGGER 19th C:
This is a very beautiful example of a Russian Caucasian dagger made in the town of Shusha (modern Shusha), Karabakh. Daggers were made mainly for the Kuban Cossacks (see the original photos from the books) when this area passed into the Kuban Cossack Army around 1860-1880. It is mounted with a blade measuring 40 cm by 3.0 cm in length at the widest point, it is a very large dagger, sharp and phenomenal in condition. He wears beautiful handles made of dark horn, which also remain very healthy and strong in their condition, (with minor horn losses on one side), there is a metal bar with two very large rivets on top (this is an important feature for these daggers).Inside the all-metal case, 2 wooden halves are visible. The overall size is 58.5 cm in length. If you compare my photos with items from books, you will understand that you have not seen anything like this in quality, this item will be an ornament to ANY collection, it is better not to find an item by condition (my personal opinion). The dagger is rated accordingly in quality and rarity .
