This soldier joined the United States Army at 16 or 17 years of age (information is unclear) in 1927 without the consent of his parents. A telegram states that the parent did not consent, and the Army discharged him after 26 days of service. He was stationed at Fort Howard, Maryland.

Included in this lot are four telegrams, two letters, and a U.S. Army Honorable Discharge document.

Discharge measures approximately 8" x 10 1/4". (front/back).

The telegrams measure around 6 3/8" x 8".

The letters are 8" x 10 1/2". 1 Page each.

These items are in antique condition with tearing, folds, creasing, discoloration and marks. One of the telegrams has heavy tearing (see photos). The discharge has staining and heavy creasing. The letters have staining where paperclips were removed. There is writing on the back side of one of the telegrams.

Please see photos for more information on condition and ask anyquestions you may have.
