Item Description
Two original WWII Navy purchasing forms, unused.
One is the federal-tax and delivery sheet used with Navy contracts. It covers exemption from federal tax on supplies for the exclusive use of the United States, sales tax, a notice to buyers in the New York City area, and delivery instructions for the Brooklyn Navy Yard, Supply Officer, Bldg. #3. It says shipments via water carriers should be consigned there, and that a buyer without the Navy Purchasing Office leaflet may obtain one from the Navy Purchasing Office, New York.
The other is form G-23, Certificate of Grading. It tells the contractor to attach the certificate to invoices and send an extra copy to the consignee with the bill of lading. Payment is by the Disbursing Officer, Third Naval District, Federal Office Building, 90 Church Street, New York. Purchases made without advertising under the First War Powers Act, approved 18th December 1941. Tax clause US3 refers to the back of the sheet.
Two forms, one lot. Age toning. Ships from Lakewood, New York.
