This United States Air Force Military K-9 Teams patch is made for the handlers and military working dogs who guard air bases at home and downrange.
The Air Force opened its Sentry Dog Training Branch at Lackland AFB, Texas, in October 1958, and the 341st Training Squadron there still trains dogs and handlers for every service. On December 4, 1966, Nemo A534 was shot while protecting his handler, Airman Robert Throneburg of the 377th Air Police Squadron, at Tan Son Nhut Air Base in Vietnam.
It measures 4.5 by 3.25 inches, with a merrowed edge and iron-on backing.
Add it to a shadow box with your dog's photo, or give it to a handler headed to the kennels.
