An embroidered badge patch for US Army Military Police K-9 units, with a German Shepherd over crossed pistols.
The Army created the K-9 Corps on March 13, 1942, with dogs donated through Dogs for Defense and trained by the Quartermaster Corps for sentry, scout, messenger and mine work. After World War II the Military Police Corps took over dog training, and Army dog teams went on to Korea, Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan.
It measures 2.5 by 3.5 inches with a cut edge and a hook backing that attaches to a loop panel.
Put it on your kennel wall or loop panel, or give it to a handler whose dog has retired.
