Austrian Model 1849 Sword Bayonet + Rare Scabbard /Frog Augustin Jager Carbine:

Austrian Model 1849 Sword Bayonet with Scabbard! Bayonet measures 28.25\" with a blade length of 24\"., Inside diameter of muzzle is .920\". Blade shows a uncleaned brown rust scattered patina with original finish peeking through. The point end of blade is bit blunted/chipped. Elbow stamped with a \"3\" with cartouches, pommel end is s/n# marked, \"280\". The top of blade/spine shows cartouches also. This has the scabbard and the frog, which is near impossible to find is made of leather and has rivets attached. The steel mounted tip is missing. Leather shows some wear, use, loss. These socket bayonets were designed for Jager Units and could also function as a short sword. A nice find. See photos for further details.♦See our other Antique Military Goods at TR-West
