📌 DESCRIPTION
Few symbols capture the humor and mystique of the intelligence community quite like Secret Squirrel. This CIA Secret Squirrel challenge coin brings together the recognizable cartoon-inspired character, the Central Intelligence Agency seal, and the memorable phrase “Admit Nothing Deny Everything.” Its combination of intelligence symbolism and tongue-in-cheek humor makes it an engaging addition to collections focused on espionage, clandestine operations, and federal intelligence memorabilia.
The obverse displays Secret Squirrel wearing a detective-style hat with a red hatband, surrounded by raised gold-tone artwork and a prominent red enamel border. A detailed, multicolor Central Intelligence Agency seal appears beside the character, while the curved “Secret Squirrel” banner completes the design. The nickname has long been used informally in military and intelligence circles when referring to secretive activities, classified assignments, and personnel working in sensitive environments. The artwork captures that familiar expression through a combination of humor and recognizable intelligence imagery.
The reverse features a sculpted acorn against a glossy black enamel background, surrounded by a textured gold-tone perimeter. Raised lettering with red enamel accents spells out “Admit Nothing Deny Everything,” a humorous expression reflecting the discretion and secrecy commonly associated with intelligence work. The acorn reinforces the Secret Squirrel identity, creating a cohesive design across both sides.
The combination of a recognizable intelligence-community nickname, detailed CIA iconography, and contrasting enamel work gives this coin appeal beyond traditional military challenge coin collecting. Its 1.74-inch diameter and substantial raised relief provide a strong display presence in collections of intelligence agency, espionage, and federal government memorabilia.
