the fighting 69th was made up of Irish immigrant's earning the rite to be called American's. This sword was carried by one of them, its made by a jeweler in NY name unknown. The blade is etched with battle seen also the top of the blade is also etched. Grip looks like silver with wire wrap and a gem on the pommel cap. The handguard has a 4 leaf clover pierced in it. The scabbard also has Irish motif on the metal bits and in the carved leather, an x museum piece with tag. I will include the flag which is a fine reproduction of the original.
