Original 1945 Military Issue deployment invasion bag. Used by the United States Marine Corps to store their Colt, US&S, Remington Rand and Ithaca pistols and their personal effects. Commonly referred to as " Willie Peter Bag " in Marine talk. Made in Philadelphia PA by the Visking Corporation and issued by the Quartermaster at the Navy Yard. Appears to have never been used. It is marked " COVER, WATERPROOF, PISTOL OR PERSONAL EFFECTS SPEC P.O.D. NO. 377B STOCK NO. 74-C-310-38 THE VISKING CORP FEBRUARY 12, 1945. P.O. 13539 PHILADELPHIA Q.M. DEPOT ".
