These are original NVA hats intended for use in 1990-1991 during the Wendezeit when the GDR national symbol was replaced with the German tr-color cockade "Bullseye" and used until Bundeswehr uniforms could be issued to the absorbed former National People's Army.
The Wende or Peaceful Revolution in the GDR (also known as the Wendezeit, Turning Point, or the Collapse of the GDR) is the term used to describe the process of socio-political change that ended the rule of the Socialist Unity Party of Germany (SED) in the German Democratic Republic in 1989, accompanied the transition to a parliamentary system of government based on the West German model, and German reunification on 3 October 1990.
