Relisted due to none payment, last time I'm offering so if you like the sword, now is your time to buy :) if not she is going back up on the wall.Fine English Silver Mounted Hanger. 33 inches overall single edged blad the forte on both sides deeply struck with Solingen ancher marks. Hilt comprising recurved quillons each with lobed terminals, plain collar, pommel-cap & natural buckhorn grip.Late 17th Century. Very attractive sword in good condition.Similar swords can be seen journal of the Arms & Armour Society, Vol. 22, No. 6 (September 2018), pp. 304-331.For further information on English silver hilted swords and hangers see Leslie Southwick, “London Silver – Hilted Swords, Their makers, suppliers & allied traders, with directory”, 2001, Royal Armouries.The grip and silver looked like it was cleaned but I don't really know, the grip had a crack repair at some point.The blade is untouched and marked with Solingen anchors.
