For your consideration is a vintage French Foreign Legion paratrooper uniform. Included in this lot are the coat with various patches, medals, etc, trousers, and belt. With some quick research, we found this uniform to have both 2nd and 11th parachute regiment patches and a very special “commando parachute group” set of jump wings.
The commando parachute group is an elite group of pathfinders drawn from various regiments in the paratrooper brigade who then undertake special training and must pass various requirements to serve in. In 2015, as few as 250 men of over 8000 paratroopers had the opportunity to serve in this unit.
The coat also has various other items including shoulder boards, (3) fourragère lanyards, multiple patches, and this soldiers ribbon bar.
This is a great lot from a very distinguished soldier. Condition is very nice! Please message us with any questions!
