Item Description:
Up for sale is a beautiful, genuine antique early 20th-century Church Lads\' Brigade (CLB) Officer\'s Leather Crossbelt Pouch Badge. This large, heavy-duty insignia features a bold die-stamped Maltese cross design centered within an intricate, sweeping laurel wreath. It boasts a rich, deep antique brass patina with minor historical wear, giving it immense character.
Historical Background:
Founded in 1891, the Church Lads\' Brigade was a prominent Anglican youth organization that operated with a highly structured, military-style uniform and drill system. During the late Victorian and Edwardian eras, its adult officers wore a uniform closely resembling British Army rifle regiments, which included a leather crossbelt adorned with a pouch badge like this specimen. This beautiful piece is a fantastic crossover collectible, highly sought after by both social history enthusiasts and British militaria collectors.
