HUGE Lot of 50 Original Letters Written by US Air Force Officer to his Parents Back Home in Massachusetts, Dated 1964 - 1968, With GREAT CONTENT!!

DESCRIPTION:Rare large lot of 50 original hand written letters from the Vietnam War era. Written by an Air Force Lt. to his parents in Massachusetts (All identified on each envelope). His name was Robert Duda and he came from Haydenville, Mass. All with original envelopes, most with original air mail stamps. All with postmarks between 1964 - 1968. Appears that he was stationed both in Texas, Denver, and Spain. Most of the letters are 4 pages long.

Quite a range of interesting news and subjects discussed, both military related and news of the day. Most of the letters have particularly good content and references, and many have notations/outlines of content, etc., outlined on sticky notes as shown.

Great references about his work and activities (e.g. missile loading work, flying, etc.); fighter plane crash description, with pilot bailing out and burn injuries; his squadron commander who won THE CONGRESSIONAL MEDAL OF HONOR (and big receptions an visit to the White House FOR PRESENTATION BY PRESIDENT JOHNSON, and also being ON THE ED SULLIVAN SHOW!!); things quiet now after Nixon's visit; our wing provided escort for planes on their way to Vietnam; guerilla action popped a plane windshield in flight;he may go to Thailand, maybe Vietnam; saw AIRFORCE ONE, w/JOHNSON ONBOARD, FLY OVERHEAD; talks about 1968 primary election and Nixon, RFK, & Goldwater; went to a Dennis Day show and also a Fats Domino concert at his officer's club; Cassius Clay was training there for that rigged fight; went to France and disliked it greatly...never will go back unless at 40,000 feet...thinks the Germans had the right idea trying to wipe out the bastards; etc., etc., etc.

Plane crashed, almosthitGermanhouse. Describes plane pieces/size, pilot injuries from bailout. Lots of official Air Force stationary used....missle loadingdrills

I have never seen anything like these. Just so-so-so much, so varied and great content from the same officer duringtheperiod. Letters are all about 60 years old now!! All with an interesting perspective, all from the same officer to his parents, who kept them all. A great historical archive and collectable reference. Great content and military news of the day. Absolutely loaded withstories and details fromhis time in theservice.
