CONDITION: Excellent Used Condition (EUC). Fantastic vintage condition for an 80-year-old paper archive. The postcards and fold-out mailer show light, natural edge wear, clear postmarks, and very crisp, legible handwriting. No major tears or heavy staining.

DESCRIPTION: This historical World War II correspondence archive dates entirely to 1944 and features deeply personal pieces sent from a father, Robert L. Engbrock, to his young daughter, Miss Cathy Engbrock, at their family home on South Austin Street in Seguin, Texas.

The collection includes a mix of typed and handwritten correspondence from \"Dad”, checking in on his \"darling Cathy,\" asking her to be a good girl for her mother, and inquiring about family members like Sue Ann. A highlight of this family lot is the authentic 1940s \"Greetings from San Diego\" fold-out accordion souvenir postcard folder. Sent home by Mr. Engbrock while stationed on the West Coast, this folder features the iconic large-letter greeting on the cover and opens up to display double-sided, vibrant linen-texture scenic views. The text on the folder outlines the area\'s rich history and emphasizes its status as the \"greatest military and naval operating base in America,\" matching his exact station during the war effort.
