Thisis a set of Luftwaffe Construction/Engineer Hauptmann/Captain CollarTabs (Luftwaffe Paar Kragenspiegel fur einen Hauptmann derBaupioniere). A matching set of Luftwaffe Construction/EngineerHauptmann collar tabs, each constructed of black wool with buckramcores, trimmed with twisted and rolled silver aluminum wire piping,and bearing three silver aluminum wire gulls above oak leaf wreathsof identical construction. The three gulls indicate the rank ofHauptman or Captain. Both tabs are unmarked and measuring 40 mm (w)by 55 mm (l). These tabs are in outstanding condition.Of Note: RLM personnel discontinued use of the black branch of service color in July 1939, and from that point on it was worn only by construction unit personnel.
