Military Honor Certificate Lot WWII Korea Vietnam Gulf War US Naval Institute
Each certificate bears artwork by Tom W. Freeman, the Naval Institute’s longtime illustrator and an internationally recognized watercolorist.
The lot includes 8 blank, unfilled certificates across four conflicts: World War II (multiple copies, two distinct designs), Vietnam War, Korean War, and Gulf War.
Each certificate follows the same “Know Ye, That:” format with blank fill-in lines for name, branch of service, and dates of service.
The World War II designs depict naval battles, wading infantry, battleships, aircraft, and portraits of servicemen flanked by globes.
One WWII variant centers on the American flag surrounded by the Great Seal, the Navy anchor emblem, the Coast Guard seal, and the Marine Corps globe and anchor.
The Vietnam War certificate features the Republic of Vietnam Service Medal, Tonkin Gulf Yacht Club emblem, soldiers, aircraft, tanks, and helicopters.
The Korean War certificate shows a torii gate arch, the Korea service medal, infantry in winter gear, aircraft including a B-29 and MiG-type jet, and tank combat imagery.
The Gulf War certificate depicts the UN globe emblem centered over a Middle East map, with aircraft carriers, a C-130, F-16s, an Apache helicopter, M1 Abrams tank, and soldiers in desert terrain.
Two Gulf War certificates of the same design are present.
Copyright dates visible on the certificates read 1990 and 1991.
All lines remain blank — none of the certificates have been filled in.
