Mongolian Award Badge Issued bythe Mongolian People’s Army Construction Agency, Communist Period, circa 1950s-60s.
Guaranteed 100% ORIGINAL oldpiece, not a recent issue or a replica!
The badge has Cyrillicinscription соёл ардынцэргийн рекорд хƟдƟпмƟрийн which apparently stands for “Record of theMongolian People’s Army” according to the catalog “Mongolian Orders, Medals& Badges” by Dr. A. Battushig (page 119, fig. N10). Judging by theconstruction crane in the artwork and the fact that it’s shown in the part ofthe Battushig’s catalog that shows construction-related awards, it was clearlyan award for building military installations. We think that the word “record”and the open book shown at the bottom of the badge may indicate that it was forbuilding military archives (“record-keeping”) facility or possibly forbookkeeping in military construction units. Whatever might be the case, itdefinitely had something to do with military construction!
The badge is nicely made, inbrass with multi-colored high quality “hot-baked” enamels. It measures 33.8 mmlong by 28.4 mm wide.
The badge is in GREATCONDITION! The enamel shows no scuffs or significant scratches of any kind. Thepin attachment is intact and sound.
