These particular knives are very rare to find these days; but were essential equipment for the brave divers of WW2.


Offered in excellent used condition, this rare DESCO WWII example has the standard 6 7/8" blade with saw teeth on one edge. The grip is turned hardwood and the hilt has a brass pommel, and the knife screws into a heavy brass cylindrical scabbard.


DESCO was an early Mark 5 diving equipment company. There were five or so manufacturers of this type of knife in WW2: DESCO, VINCE FORGE, MORRIS, BATTERYLESS TELEPHONE, BOMAR and SCHRADER.


This example is a USN issued knife. The blade and tip blade are in more than excellent A++ condition. No bends, breaks, or cracks. Blade is still very sharp. Handle is exceptionally firm and tight with zero play. Knife spins easily into the original bronze scabbard. Scabbard is in excellent condition with only some minor dings on the end of where scabbard would bang against the dive suit. Please review pictures!


The knife and scabbard have not been cleaned or altered with in any way. A remarkable piece of blade history to add to any collection.
