RARE CIVIL WAR REGIMENTAL FLAGPOLE GILDED SPEAR TYPE FINIAL FROM TENNESSEE :
$250.00

Up for sale is a super nice Civil War BattleFlag Regimental Eagle Finial or Flagstaff flagpole topper carried during the American Civil War! A few similar spear type examples are pictured in \"FlagStaff Finials, Toppers & Ferrules of the American Civil War\" that was published last year! This piece came from a Tennessee estate and Irecently saw a dug example of this same style flagpole topper that was recovered in Tennessee (see last picture, its not included in this sale)
This spear finial has a nice light oxidized patina mainlyon the tip and shows overall wear on the original gold gilding from carry and wear polish from beingcarried for years during the war! It displays amazingly on a shelf with other civil war relics! It measures in at 8.5 inches tall by 1.5 inches wide. All in all it is a super nice rare relic that you can add to your collection!
**This recently published Civil War Finial book (as pictured) is for sale on and a copy of it can be purchased if you search the title name or #134215806733 Civil war finials have been some of the most rare relics of the war, until a recent book written by Del Thomasson brought them to light! Based on the details of each individual piece, it can help to date each type and examples based on historic photo\'s, research, andmuseuminformation. Unfortunately, most advanced civil war collections lack these flagstaff related relics, due to the past lack of knowledge on these rare relics of the civil war.
I specialize in studying and researching these specific rare relics from the civil war and occasionally sell duplicates of ones I already have. This is the only type of civil war relic I collect and specialize in and devote my time to researching. Feel free to ask any questions, and feel confident in offerding as my response should speak for itself. Payment is expected within 3 days of sale end. Good luck offerding!!
