Vintage R Heinisch Inventor Sail Textile Shears Scissors 13\" Civil War Era.Heinisch was the first patentee of steel textile scissors in the United States and these particular oversized shears bear their patent hallmark above the brass cap. An excellent piece of American manufacturing history and a great addition to your collection. These have a very nice weighty feel in your hand. They were very skillfully designed. Everybody who sees these has to pick them up and comment on their weight and how great they feel. They have their natural patina and were well used, but are still tight. Please understand that these will have imperfections and are indeed more than 150 years old and were actually used in a manufacturing setting for many years. Truly a well designed piece of industrial grade equipment.
