This set I have owned since 1972. At that time, I purchased the Historical “McHaley’s Surplus” in Lafayette, Indiana. This kit was used in the store on occasion to repair a military item that may be missing snap or grommet.


Rare Vintage United Carr Fastener U S Navy N.A.F. 1156-1 WW II Fastener Kit . This is the most complete US Navy NAF-1156-1 Fastener Kit on the market today, with a 90%+- of the original NOS pieces still intact in the drawers. Fasteners a bit mixed up because when moving a couple the drawers were spilled‼️😢 This is near complete with all original tools and all the drawers have the original packing labels. The part numbers on the labels are wartime, and the contents match the contents in the 1944 Navy Aviation Supply (ASO) Office Class 41 Stock Catalog…....with a few caveats. The cabinet has AN 230-B2 / NAF 1155-42 and AN 230-B10 / NAF 1155-40 fasteners, and the 1944 ASO Class 41 does not. Note also that the drawers inside the cabinet depicted in the wartime catalog don't have the nifty hinged lids.


THIS IS AN ORIGINAL UNITED CARR UAF 1156-1 REPAIR KIT. 5 DRAWERS. THE KIT WAS USED TO REPAIR ALL GOVERNMENT ISSUE CANVAS AND LEATHER EQUIPMENT. FROM TENTS, TO HOLSTERS, KNIFE SHEATHES, KNAP SACKS, CANTEEN COVERS, BELTS, ETC. THIS SET COMES WITH HUNDREDS OF SNAPS, GROMMETS, STUD CLOSERS, ETC. INCLUDING ALL THE TOOLS, PUNCHES, DIES, ORIGINAL CARR HAND PRESS, ALL IN PERFECT ALTHOUGH VERY SLIGHTLY USED CONDITION. ORIGINAL ARMY GI GREEN COLOR METAL BOX IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION WITH THE DESIGNATION OF ALL CONTENTS OF EACH DRAWER ON THE LID COVER AS PICTURED IN THE PHOTOS. THESE SETS ARE EXTREMLY RARE AND HARD TO FIND. BTW, there are a few non GI snaps in drawer #5 as a bonus.
