Rare Actual Glossy Photo Instead of the More Typical Printed Type of Photo
DESCRIPTION:Unusual WWI German death card for a soldier in a SKI REGT who died from severe wounds. HE WAS A VERY EARLY CASUALTY, DYING VERY EARLY (March) IN THE FIRST YEAR OF THE WAR (1914). Picture of him is a very rare, ACTUAL GLOSSY PHOTO rather than the more typical printed photo.
Specifically, \"the honorable youth Josef Gunther, soldier in a ski regiment, who died from severe wounds in the Ortlergebiet, on March 4, 1914, aged 22.\" Very unusual glossy thumbnail size photo of him in uniform rather than the more typical printed photo.
Extremely difficult to find WWI soldier death cards anymore, but I am selling part of my collection and have a few nice ones to offer.This one is a very nice looking and unusual card, in very good condition.
Original card, more than 100 years old, and a nice face and story to a very young soldier who otherwise would be a forgotten statistic.
