· Thisgolden brass box is a reproduction of a ‘skippet’, a metal case that houses thewas impression of a seal and bears on its cover a replica of the seal in relief. The motif on the cover is an eagle withlaurel branch and arrows, with the moto ‘E Pluribus Unum’ and the 13 stars forthe original union.

· It isquite heavy, and well made.It measures about 5 ½” in diameter.

· It isfrom the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
