The grand celebrationson the Red Square in Moscow- including the “parades of physical culture” – were propaganda events aimed atboth the Soviet population and the rest of the world. They were to showcaseSoviet people’s vigor, optimism and loyalty to the communist cause. To beallowed to participate in one of the Moscowparades was considered a great honor. This participant’s badge is from one ofthe first such events held after the end of WW2. A very interesting originalartifact of the early Cold War era!
