Soviet Air Force Officer Visor CapSize 55USSR Blue Band w/ Red Star Military Hat
This is anmilitary officer’s visor cap with blue Air Force branch band and piping, gold officer braid, and classic hammer and sickle red star badge with wreath.Size is marked 55 which is an equivalent to approximately US size 6_7/8 (21_5/8 inch head circumference).
Blue band caps were worn by officers of the Soviet Air Force (VVS) during the Cold War period.
The interior maker’s mark reads:
“ПТО Головной убор ЗАРНИЦА Москва”Translated: Quality Control Department – Headwear Factory “Zarnitsa”, Moscow (Zarnitsa was a Moscow manufacturer of official Soviet uniform headwear).
